Signal Hunt in Full Swing

Remember the scavenger hunt we mentioned earlier today? Well, it’s time to jump right in.

Right now, the groups formed yesterday - ten in total, each covering a wide array of topics - are spread across the old town of Graz. Their mission: to find and discuss what we call signals.

So, what exactly is a signal? It can be anything from a local innovation to a new product, practice, or strategy. In short, it’s something that captures our attention on a small scale and hints at larger implications.

Here are some intriguing signal-examples fwe chose for this activity:

  • Sovereign Cryptocurrencies: A hybrid cryptocurrency backed by both crypto and fiat assets.

  • Climate-Neutral Vending Machines: Vending machines designed to absorb and store CO2, promoting sustainability.

  • 3D-Printed Food: Advanced manufacturing technology used to create customized recipes with unique configurations and flavors.

The teams have been dispatched to three different locations in the city. Their objective is to identify and discuss these signals, then rank them based on whether they represent a possible, plausible, or probable scenario for the future.

The discussions are intense, and we can’t wait to share the preliminary results with you soon!
